I know it probably isn't a good idea to nest this information in another page rather than my homepage, but I'll do it anyway.

is taking inspiration/copying code from your site okay?
That's absolutely fine! HTML is confusing, and not everybody is able to understand it without learning from others. Just be mindful that not everybody is comfortable with it, so make sure to check with a user before using any code. before doing anything, please read this carefully...

• credit me! Not all of the code is mine. however, because it has been changed, I expect to see credits towards me. Think of it as citing academic literature mentioned in another paper you're reading... you cite where you read the literature from, not the literature itself. By crediting my site, people redirected to me can see that my code has been inspired by someone else originally. There will be a difference in my code and where I got my inspiration from so if people want a similar appearance they may not get it with the OG code. Also... taking code directly from me and crediting someone else feels a bit sneaky.


• I don't want to see my entire site ripped off. sure, you could say that I don't own a style, aesthetic, or certain vibe, and that's true. I'm not trying to gatekeep, but rather I'm trying to encourage originality. even I can't help but feel inspired by something to a point where I want to just mimic it completely. However at the end of the day I just feel uncomfortable because it isn't true to myself and it isn't mine. If you use anything from my website, I would prefer you to use it as a layout base or helpful tidbits that you change yourself, not for any other reason. Repurposing code for your own use with full transparency and permission is, in my opinion, the only ethical way of using work.

can I use your real name if I know it?
although I don't mind if people discover my real name, my alias is a way to personify myself on the internet while giving myself some anonymity. If we are interacting outside of neocities (e.g on Instagram) feel free to use it. affectionate nicknames are also okay, I don't mind if anybody does so with either my alias or my actual name. Please only use an alias when speaking to me on neocities or my guestbook.

do you have other websites?
as of right now I don't have any other neocities websites. However, I do have some carrds and strawpages I no longer use. I also have some nekoweb sites, but only one is in use for my editing account. all sites can be found at fatal.nekoweb.org, which can be found on my homepage. The other is just a database I'm using for my diary entries.
